Scope and content:: The collection is arranged into three series: Teaching; Design Work; and Personal. Items in the collection are predominantly visual and include sketches of letterforms and typefaces; printing proofs; posters; photographs; and a small collection of student work on CDs. There is relatively little correspondence or original writings.
Biographical / historical:: Professor Leah Hoffmitz Milken (b. 1952, d. 2014) was a well-known typographer, letterform designer, and esteemed faculty member at ArtCenter. The HMCT was founded in her memory, and her collection forms the core of the HMCT Archives.
