Biographical / historical:

Gaye LeBaron has been a journalist for the Press Democrat since 1959. Semi-retired since 2001, she still writes two columns per month and continues to gather and donate research material to her collection. A well-loved and respected community voice, she has written over 8,200 columns in her sixty years with the newspaper. Chronicling the history and local issues of California’s North Bay region, each column demonstrates her extraordinary skills as a journalist, historian, and storyteller.
