Scope and content:

The Auction Catalogs Collection represents eight auction houses and 276 dealers. Prominent among the auction houses are Sotheby, Parke-Bernet, Sotheby-Parke Bernet and California Book Auction. The collection primarily focuses on auctions held in the 20th Century. It was begun in 1967. Since 1985 there have been no paid acquisitions for this collection nor is it actively growing.
