The San Francisco Symphony Archive collects, preserves, and provides access to current and historical records of the San Francisco Symphony, serving our staff, musicians, and the public. Our collections document the heritage of the Symphony, its evolving nature, and its continued presence in the cultural life of the Bay Area. The collections include programs and performance history, press clippings, scrapbooks, posters, guest artist and event files, photographs, videos, ephemera, and administrative records. This digital collection includes all San Francisco Symphony concert programs from the inaugural season, 1911-1912, through the 1922-1923 season. In addition to the lists of works performed, programs include program notes, artist notes, names of orchestra members and donors, names and photos of guest artists and music directors, local San Francisco advertisements, and notices to the public.
