The Daly City Public Library collection consists of print and audiovisual materials relating to local history and residents from the early twentieth century to the present. Of particular interest is a large collection of Daly City newspapers dating from the late nineteenth century to the mid-1960s. The Daly City Public Library provides library services to the residents of the City of Daly City. Daly City, population 101,123 (U.S. Census 2010), is the largest city in San Mateo County and is located immediately south of the City and County of San Francisco. The Library also serves residents of the Town of Colma and unincorporated Broadmoor. Daly City is proud of its vibrant and ethnically diverse urban community. Daly City has been identified as one of the "Capitals of Asian America" - with Filipinos constituting the largest ethnic group. Daly City is 55.6% Asian; 23.7% Hispanic or Latino; 13.9% White, Non-Hispanic; 3.6% African-American; and 12.3% Other (U.S. Census 2010). Preserving yesterday. Informing today. Inspiring tomorrow.
